Dr. Christopher Korte

Dr. Christopher Korte is a dedicated veterinarian based in Pueblo, CO but has been practicing in Colorado Springs, CO for the last 10 years in emergency medicine and surgery. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998. He has been practicing for 27 years, starting in a mixed animal practice working on large and small animals. He has a strong interest and experience in surgery, internal medicine and emergency care.
Dr. Korte was born and raised in Missouri north of St. Louis on a farm that raised crops, cattle, pigs and horses. He moved to Colorado approximately 15 years ago with is wife Jeanna Blasingame who grew up in Fowler, CO on a dairy farm. With 27 years experience he is passionate about veterinary medicine and believes strongly in the importance of the human-animal bond. Throughout his career, Dr. Korte has been involved in various aspects of veterinary practice, including private clinics/ animal hospitals, emergency and specialty hospitals and community outreach programs. He is known for his ability to handle complex medical and surgical cases, and his dedication to improving the quality of life for animals.
Dr. Korte is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Association (VECCS). He regularly attends conferences and workshops to stay updated on lastest advancements in veterinary medicine and surgery, ensuring that his practice incorporates cutting-edge techniques and treatments.
In his free time Dr. Korte enjoys playing hockey/golf and spending time with his family and watching his kids play hockey and gymnastics. He looks forward to joining Pets and Friends Animal Hospital in Pueblo, CO and being closer to home to be more involved in the community.
